The unit uses a thicker plastic than the original Chamberlain remote. It feels tougher overall. Installation was VERY easy. The instructions were so straight-forward and i had it setup in a couple of minutes. Works flawlessly with my 2009 Chamberlain Whisper Belt Drive which has Security+ 1.0

Pros:
- Very easy to setup
- Batteries are included!
- Thick sturdy plastic compared with original chamberlain

Cons:
- Like other have stated, the keypad cover can easily come off - so take care with lifting it
- doesn't have a separate "enter" button like on the chamberlain - meaning you have numbers 1 thru 9 for your passcode because "0" is used like an enter button

Things to note:
- After entering your passcode - while the keypad is still lit, pressing any button acts like clicking the button on a remote which i found kind of odd.

This unit works, but it's disappointing on a number of fronts:
1. the sliding cover was difficult to open from the fully-closed position, even after it was lubricated with silicone spray.
2. it comes with a cheap lead-acid battery instead of a nicad or alkaline battery.
3. for some reason it's the 0 button, and not the * or # button that must be pressed after the code is entered, unlike most other openers. Not intuitive at all.

After a year, this unit had to be replaced as it was sending phantom signals to my garage door opener. Open door without being triggered. Cost me $279.00 to have a tech come and check it out and replace keypad. If your door starts to open by itself and if you lock it shut With the wall controller and the door stays down, this guy is the suspect. Buy a new one and replace it. Save yourself a couple of hundred bucks.

This garage dr control opens the door no matter how cold it gets outside. The control cover slides up and down- not all that fond of that. My old control cover was hinged at the top. You have to put the code in to close the door. The old control you just hit one button. It works flawlessly so far, just a little feature short.
