How to preview other users' Instagram stories

A first solution that allows you see a preview of a story on Instagram Posted by another user is that of swipe not completely the story feed.

In some cases, this method allows not to notify the user that the story has been viewed, but it is not an infallible method, in fact it is likely that the content display will be notified in any case.

In general, when you look at stories posted by a user on Instagram, the one that is displayed is the first story among those that have not yet been seen.

With that said, if you want to preview and make sure your view is not counted, check out the miniatures of the stories located in the top bar, on the main Instagram screen.

Then touch the history of the user whose name precedes that of the person of interest.

Once playback begins, keep your finger on the right side of the screen and perform a short, light swipe from right to left, simulating the next jump in the user's story.

As you see the animation of the passage of stories, stops sliding at 30% or 40% of transition, without releasing your finger, so that you can see its content and, therefore, its preview.

By doing so, the story that you have only glimpsed will be treated as having been viewed (on your account) and the content owner will probably not be notified of the visit. If you repeat the above procedure now, you will be able to preview the next story from the same user, in case they have posted several.

Preview stories without viewing them

First, touch the photo, which you will find in the upper left, on the main Instagram screen.

Once done, you will enter the editor to make a story.

Once you've created a story, don't press any buttons below (as this will get it published right away).

Instead, touch the icon with an arrow pointing down, which is in the upper right. Doing so will download a copy of the history to the device's local storage.

At this point, go to the photo gallery to find the preview of the story you just made, thus being able to share it through other applications and services.

If you have entered GIFs, hashtags, mentions, and any other interactive elements, these will not be selectable as a static multimedia element will be downloaded.

Therefore, when re-importing the image into the Instagram story, the previously added elements will remain static.

In this sense, I advise you not to close the Instagram application when you switch to the device's media gallery, or exit the story editor mode, so as not to have to recreate it.

First of all, if you want to see the preview of the story being able to interact with additional multimedia elements, such as stickers, GIFs or hashtags, create a list: Closest friends, adding your second or a friend's account, and enable the archive of stories.

Regarding this last feature, during the creation of the story, touch the icon with a gear, at the top left and, in the new screen that opened, make sure the function is enabled Save to file.

Now to create a list of Best friends, touch the corresponding icon at the bottom, in the story you are creating, and press the item Add to the list.

On the screen that appears, select the Instagram users you want to add to this list, using the button Add and then touch the item bottom, top right.

Finally, press the Best Friends icon to confirm your publication.

By doing so, you will have published the story only to the Instagram users you have indicated. In addition, all interactive elements will be selectable and the story will be saved in the Instagram archive.

In this way, if your friend (or yourself with your second account) believes that the story is well done and that all the interactive elements work and are in the right place, you can publish it with all the followers by rescuing it from the archive.

To share the story from your close friends list with all followers, on the main Instagram screen, tap the icon with a clock, which you will find in the top bar and select the story created previously.

Then touch the button Share (down) and touch the miniature (always below) to share the story publicly.
