Instagram's features are constantly being updated, with new features being added and old ones discontinued. In our “Instagram Guides,” we’ll look at Instagram, explain its new and old features, and show you how to get the most out of the platform for your marketing strategy. Today: Instagram Reels: these are the types of audio you can use.

Instagram Reels are short videos that users can create for their followers. You can record a reel with your own original audio, with the original audio of another reel creator, or with music from the Instagram music library. Use the audio tool in Instagram Reels to do this.

Are there rules about original audio?

When you share a reel with your original audio, your username will be shown. If you use the music of someone else in your audio. Then Instagram will change the audio description to that artist's username and song.

It´s the best, if the original audio is created by you, in a reel you recorded or in a video you uploaded.

If you post a reel in a public account, anyone on Instagram can create a reel with your original audio. If you have a private account, no one can create a reel with your original sound.

Why was I notified that my reel was added to an audio page?

If Instagram determines that your original audio contains licensed music or audio, they automatically tag it with a note that includes the artist's name and song title. Your reel is then added to that song's audio page so more Instagram users can find it there.

What happens if the artist/song credit is wrong?

If Instagram got your audio wrong, you can remove your reel from the audio page. Tap the three dots at the bottom of the reel and then tap "Remove from Audio Page." Your audio will then be reassigned to you so that it says "Original Audio" next to your username.

How do I add a voiceover to my reels?

You can add a voiceover to your reel before you publish it. Here's how to add a voiceover to your reel:

1. In the first step, record your reel and then tap the right arrow at the bottom.

2. Then tap the microphone icon at the top.

3. Tap or hold the record button to record the audio track that you want to be front and center in your video. Then tap "Done" and share your reel.

By the way, you can record more than one voiceover clip for your reel.

Use the slider at the bottom to edit when your voiceover starts playing.

If you want to delete the last recorded voiceover clip, tap the left arrow and then "Discard."

Finding the perfect track for your Reels has become a lot easier, thanks to Instagram adding a new Audio tab to help you do just that. The Facebook-owned app has dedicated a whole search tab to audio content, making it easier for creators to find the perfect song or audio content for their Instagram content.

Following the success of Instagram Reels and Stories due to their audio-visual nature, Instagram has added a tab to search for and find audio tracks in its Explore page.

This article will discuss what the new feature is about and explain how to use it to find the perfect audio for your Instagram Reels.

Find Your Favorite Tracks Using the Audio Tab on the Explore Page

The new Audio search tool lets you search for songs and audio within the Instagram app using keywords. When you tap on a song, Instagram will show you a list of Reels that have sampled that sound.

This can help you decide if that particular song is a good fit for the type of Reel you want to include it in.

It also allows you to see the latest trending Reels using that song, which can both serve as inspiration, and give you an opportunity to have your Reel seen by a wider audience if you decide to hop on that trend by using that song in the same way.

In July, the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, said in a video that the platform was no longer a video-sharing app, adding that Instagram is working to boost the app with more diverse features.

We’re also going to be experimenting with how do we embrace video more broadly: full screen, immersive, entertaining, mobile-first video. You’ll see us do a number of things, or experiment with a number of things in this space over the coming months.

The new Audio search tool is just another way that Instagram is making it easier for creators and users to engage with music in a way that enhances their experience on the platform, while producing high-quality Reels for their audiences.

Using Instagram's Audio search tab is as easy as searching for anything else on Instagram. The feature is similar to TikTok’s Sounds tab, which could signal that Instagram is trying to win over the short-form video market that TikTok has captured so well.

Follow the steps below to start using the Audio tab to find your favorite tracks:

1. Launch the Instagram app.

2. Tap the search icon at the bottom-left of the screen.

3. Tap the search bar at the top of the screen. This will open up the search page with different tabs as before, with the Top tab automatically selected.

4. Now select the Audio tab in between the Accounts and Tags tabs.

5. Finally, type the name of a song or artist and select the one you're looking for from the list provided.

Instagram Is Improving Its App for Artists and Creators

With the rise of opportunities for creators on social media and on Instagram, in particular, the Facebook-owned company is placing more focus on tailoring its app to serve and assist creators in producing high-quality, attention-grabbing, and engaging content.

The app has been improving its support for creators by adding new features on Instagram and implementing ways to help creators make more money.

The more Instagram improves its platform in a way that benefits creators, the more those creators will focus on improving their Instagram content and overall profiles.

Instagram Is Becoming More Than Just a Photo-Sharing App

Having started off as a photo-sharing app, much different from the more text-focused apps that came before it, like Facebook and Twitter, Instagram is clearly shifting away from having visuals being its sole focus.

It is becoming increasingly clear, therefore, that the social media platform is no longer a one-trick pony, and that it is geared towards providing more solutions to users and creators alike.
