Although I used to color my hair myself all the time with permanent box color, I was a little hesitant and nervous to try this kind of color myself. In an effort to save some money though and limit my exposure to others right (thanks COVID), I decided to give this a try. SO glad I did! I have highlights so I wanted a semi-transparent color that would darken and brighten my overall color some without covering all of my highlights. This worked perfectly!! My hair also feels soft and looks super healthy and shiny! It is a bit runny and messier that box color. I covered my bathroom in old towels, wore gloves, and draped a towel over my shoulders and avoided any disasters but could see how this could be a real mess if you're not super careful. A cape would have been useful for sure. Wipes off of skin fairly easily too as long as you get to it quickly. Also, I really only needed half a bottle even with long hair so a $7 bottle of hair color saves me almost $200 for 2 salon colors!

I used this product to color faded highlights and graying roots on my light to medium brown hair with blonde highlights. I was hoping to tone the brassiness of the fading highlights and still maintain some contrast. I had previously tried a gloss that didn't do much and didn't last long. I didn't want too dark hair that would look harsh at my age (60). My experience is that brown colors sometimes go darker than you are expecting. I did use my own color bowl and brush to apply and did not apply all the way to the ends, at least not on the bottom layers. I tried to get all of the roots and the highlights. I guess I was hoping the color would be more translucent. It was a little dark for me and also seemed to have a bit of a reddish tone. I am going to try a Clairol Natural Instincts cool medium blonde next. It won't do anything on my dark natural color, but I'm hoping it will do something for my grays and highlights now that that this brown color has faded away. This product, at least in this color, did not work for me.

I buy this product for my mom who has been using it for over 6 months.

Like the title says, she thinks it’s a great alternative to the harsh hair dyes she had been using previously, which were causing hair loss.

This product is gentle enough for her to use regularly and still have significant new hair growth! It doesn’t last as long as hair dye but can be used more often.

used this on our daughter when she wanted to be darker for a short period of time. It washes out pretty quick, so the key is to not wash it out of your hair after application. You'll have to rinse very well! Do not swim, the color will come out immediately. Lasted only a couple of weeks. She wished it was more like 2 months.

Based on other reviews and answers to questions. I bought this in "Gold" color to refresh my light brown/dark blond hair in between the monthly permanent hair dye sessions. This did work but the color was quite red ... my hair is not ash nor red-toned. This gold really changed my hair color to an unattractive reddish blond. I then bought a bottle of Clairol Professional Beautiful Advanced Gray Solutions, Semi-Permanent Hair Color for Gray Coverage in "Toasted Hazelnut" and mixed 4 parts of Toasted Hazelnut with only 1 part of the Gold ... the color came out perfect. I'm very pleased with how effective this product is and makes my hair color stay more uniform during the last couple of weeks before it's time for permanent hair coloring.

I've used a few different shades and the light natural blonde is my favourite. If you're looking for grey coverage use the version in the grey bottle, this one isn't really meant for grey hair. Additionally, sticking with a neutral shade (i.e. anything with N in the colour name) is much better for grey coverage. 6N Toasted Hazelnut (grey bottle) is also a nice colour to consider and is my second favourite, it's a light (level 6) neutral brown shade.

I don’t know. I’m glad that it was in a bag. But is it really too much for the people at the warehouse to make sure that the product is closed? It almost seems like it was intentionally slightly opened. I rinsed off the bottle and closed it before taking this picture. But the Was slightly open when I received it. I would’ve been really unhappy if all of the contents had spilled out into the bag.
Also The contents was not enough to cover my very short hair my hair it is thick but it is cut at the nape of my neck. It might’ve helped if the bottle hadn’t leaked by it probably wouldn’t be enough any way.

Champagne colour was much darker and warmer than expected. The coverage was much better than expected and the smell was the least offensive hair colour I've ever used. I feel it was quite drying on my hair but that may be due to not enough conditioner.

The colour was fine, but the dye made my hair REALLY dry. I had to put a lot of conditioner in afterwards. Also, this washed out in just two washes and and it doesn't smell very good. You're better off with brands like Ion, Overtone, Arctic Fox or Joico (only Ion and Overtone have browns though, as far as I know).
