Which is a pretty low bar for a brand new, never used, appliance. That bar, however quickly became pie in the sky unobtainable for this cheap, poorly designed, and terribly manufactured piece of
garbage (literally, because the garbage is where it ended up just SIX MONTHS after purchasing!). As I said, it worked, right out of the box. It turned on, it got hot, it (usually) turned off when the timer was up. Sadly, ALL of these most basic of functions were well beyond the technical abilities of the pitiful excuse for an “Industrial Designer” and the slave labor employing, cost cutting ineptitude of the Third World “Manufacturer” that Black and Decker outsourced this loser to. Within a
month, ALL of the controls became as sketchy and unreliable as your sister’s unemployed “drummer” boyfriend. The Temperature selector would occasionally hit our intended target, though not nearly often enough to be considered, by any definition of the word, “accurate”. And that knob eventually (6 months) gave up its valiant struggle with mediocrity, and just stopped trying. The “Timer” never really functioned in the realm of actual “time”. Its range of motion from new, only covered one
direction, forward. If you missed your target time for cooking on the first spin, too bad, Einstein, because there’s no going backwards. Time only marches on for this machine. Your two choices are burnt food or skipped meals. I mean, seriously, what knobs only turn in one direction? That seems harder to engineer than just doing it right. I know. Call me a dreamer. Added Note: For the adventurous among you that have already purchased this abomination and are currently experiencing its painful inadequacy, do a
quick YouTube search for this Black and Decker model and add “troubleshooting” to your search. There are an enormous number of videos of intrepid tinkerers taking their lives in their hands by opening up the case and trying to “fix” the shoddy workmanship found inside. Wires that are only partially connected… or not connected at all, a lack of heat insulation or even basic safety components, wires that glow red hot when the appliance is plugged in, the list of problems seems as long as the
component parts listed for this junk in the “manual”. Its an insurance nightmare waiting to happen. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 30, 2022 A learning curve from my last toaster over.
But I like that this on is simpler. I bought this for those summer days I want to bake and I don't want to make my house feel hotter. But we use it all year. We love the size it's perfect for days we want or need bigger portions. -Overall this works for our needs. Favorite thing about the little oven is the bigger size pans we can fit inside. I can use my pans I have for casseroles dishes and not have to buy new pans. 4.0 out of 5 stars Good for most baking and great size! A learning curve from my last toaster over. Images in this review Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 5, 2022 This is my 3rd Black & Decker oven, however, my first huge one. As a person who prefers the less is more approach, this oven continues to draw me in. Not a fan of too many bells and whistles, just needed something simple that works great. I am still on a learning curve on how to use it, thus the 4 stars and not five. One large casserole dish took longer than expected, but probably just newbie error, so I used air fryer as a back up. After much research I selected this one for its size, ease of use, easy to clean, no teflon/toxic coating, not to mention, she is quite the beauty. Simply elegant, and while large, doesn't take any more space than a microwave, which I have not used in decades. Almost forgot, I especially like that it doesn't heat up the entire kitchen like a stovetop oven would. HIGH FIVE Black & Decker for keeping it real! Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 2, 2022 I've tried several things in it. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 3, 2022 I chose this one based on the size and wattage heats quickly and even heating. I 've baked muffins, meatloaf and salmon loaf at required temps and came out thoroughly baked not dry. I like the fact that the elements are covered making cleaning easier and no risk of grease fire. It does take some serious elbow grease t o clean I wish that they would engineer all counter top ovens with ceramic or a material that's easier to clean. Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 4, 2022 In the past, I have had two convection ovens (Oster brands) and they didn’t last over 2 years. So I ordered this Black and Decker because the name was a reputable product and while I am pleased with the oven functions and cooking ability, my oven arrived with a dent in the handle probably due to shipping. It came in the original box (untapered) with no other packing or outer covering to protect the box with oven inside. I will keep the oven simply because it is too much trouble to repackage and send back and the dent does not affect the functioning of the oven. It’s a bit of a downgrade from my usual Kitchen Aid quality with really thick stainless steel casing and heavy. This B&D unit is very light and the stainless steel is very thin. But for all that it can do and how big/wide it is.... hands down I’m very happy with it. The current Kitchen Aid Model, I bought - I ended up returning as the cooking clearance overhead was too low. The air-fry (convection) option on this unit is great for reheating take home fries, but need to be careful on frozen fries as it burns the edges before getting cooked throughly. All in all, I recommend this product. 👍🏼👍🏼 1.0 out of

It is not a convection oven because you cannot bake at different temperature with fans circulating the air. It is not an airfryer because with an airfryer you have the option of changing the temperature and with this stove you do not have that option unless you have selected bake. If you selected bake there is no way to turn the fans on. Listing this oven as a convection oven or airfryer is misleading as it does neither very well. It makes toast and bakes well and that is it . If you want a convection oven, this is not the oven to buy. If you want a good airfryer buy a philips. 2.0 out of 5 stars low heat Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on August 31, 2019 does not get any were near the heat on the dial using a thermometer some recipes took twice as long to cook with an oven thermometer sometimes it was a good 125 degrees below what the dial was set at 1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of crap Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on December 18, 2019 After using for only 6 months, this little oven has turned into a total disaster. The elements are between 50 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit below what it is set for. When it worked, it was great, but now I take food out and it is still frozen inside or not cooked. Don't suppose I'll get much satisfaction because it is six months after the fact. Won't buy B&D again. This is the previous review of the product but I no longer stand by it: 1.0 out of 5 stars Update: warning, this air fryer completely goes downhill after 6 months Reviewed in Canada 🇨🇦 on March 27, 2021 Update September 2021: similar to other reviews, mine went downhill after 6 months; the knob will only turn to toast and air fry
(it refuses to turn to the other temperatures); sometimes it won't turn off automatically and I have to keep an eye on the time to pull out my food before it burns; most times it wont turn on when trying to use the toast feature. My parents had the exact same model and theirs just completely stopped working after 6 months (it wouldn't turn on). I will never purchase a Black & Decker item again. Is Black and Decker air fryer a good brand? It does a great job of air frying. My homemade potato chips, breaded veggies, french fries and chicken (of many varieties) came out really well. It was relatively inexpensive compared to other air fryers on the market. I paid around $77 on Amazon.
Is a toaster oven with an air fryer a good idea?If possible, you can absolutely choose to buy both an air fryer and a toaster oven to make kitchen work easier without considering between the two devices. However, you do not need to waste money too much because both can cook many similar dishes.
