I believe it's on the front of the engine to right of the oil filter.

I just changed my sensor on a 2011 Elantra. I too had a difficult time understanding where the sensor was located. Thanks to the local dealer, I found it in the front of the engine, down low, just to the right (as you are facing the car from the front) of the oil filter.
