The Exchange plans offer more options for insurance coverage through the Washington Healthplanfinder. Beyond the nonstandard (traditional) plan selection, the Exchange has Cascade Care Plans. Cascade Care launches Washington State on the path to achievable universal care. Like the nonstandard Exchange plans, the Cascade Plans may allow you to receive federal subsidies for premiums, with the subsidy level declining as income rises. All plans offer the ten essential health benefits. There are three types of Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) plans to choose on the Washington Exchange:
Lower Premiums Under the American Rescue Plan Act and Washington’s Cascade Care BillUnder the new American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Washingtonians will find that the cost of their health insurance that is purchased on the Health Benefit Exchange, is temporarily more affordable. For the next two years, through 2022, ARPA allows those with income up to 150% of federal poverty to get Silver plans at $0 premiums and with reduced deductibles. For those with income up to 400% of federal poverty are increased premium subsidies, and those with income above 400% federal poverty they are newly eligible for premium subsidies. There are also enhanced subsidies for those who are recently unemployed. Washington's uninsured rate has dropped to an historic 5.4 percent, thanks in part to access to Apple Health made possible through the Affordable Care Act.
What is the income limit for Washington Apple Health 2022?Today, Apple Health covers adults with incomes up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level. In April 2022 that translated to about $18,754 for a single person or $38,295 for a family of four.
