1. Mediacorp Let’s Celebrate – Renowned local & regional artists

It’s not a New Year’s Eve countdown without Mediacorp’s staple event: Let’s Celebrate. You can soak in the lively atmosphere at The Promontory at Marina Bay or catch the event on TV from the comfort of your home. Regardless of how you choose to attend the event, it is free for all. 

This year, expect to jam along to performances by renowned local artists Yung Raja and Glenn Yong. Malaysia’s Shila Amzah will also be gracing the stage.

There’s more to just performances at Let’s Celebrate. Come early as the party starts at 7pm with carnival games to be played and prizes to be won. There will even be a refreshment stand for snacks and drinks.

Get the gang together to snap a unique photo at the Bullet Time Photo Booth. Multiple cameras capture a fraction of a second to create a 3D effect like that bullet-dodging scene in The Matrix.

Once it hits “one” in the countdown, expect a colourful fireworks display to signify a beautiful start to the new year.

2. STAR Island – Vibrant fireworks show & Hello Kitty DJ

To start the new year with a real bang, head over to STAR Island at The Float @ Marina Bay. You’ll get to witness an array of fireworks and drone displays paired with cool beats spun by DJ Hello Kitty.

Yup, you read that right. Ms Kitty herself will be behind the turntable mixing tracks live. If you’re a fan of her and other Sanrio characters, there’ll also be a Sanrio pop-up store selling official merch. It’s a ticketed event priced from $88, so be sure to book your place ASAP if you don’t want to miss out on this event.

If you’re already in the mood to party, check out the Prequel to STAR Island at the MBS Event Plaza from 25th-30th December 2022, 2.30pm-10.30pm. It’s a free admission event with a sampler of what’s to come on the 31st, with food stands, Sanrio meet and greets, and screenings of past countdowns.

3. Smoke and Mirrors – Free-flow cocktails & wine

Maybe you’re all raved out from attending ZoukOut, one of the more iconic moments of Singapore in 2022 and you’re looking for a much chiller gathering for your NYE plans. Look no further than Smoke & Mirrors located at the rooftop of National Gallery Singapore.

You’re still going to get lit though, as there will be 4 hours of free-flow cocktails and bottomless beers, as well as sharing platters with oysters and tacos. The price tag is a little steep at $1,088/couple, but you do get unblocked views of the fireworks show happening just yonder at The Float @ Marina Bay.

4. Bollywood Countdown – Dinner party with Indian food buffet

If you’d rather vibe to rhythmic Bollywood music than EDM, you’ll find yourself at home at the Bollywood Countdown 2023, happening at the grand ballroom of Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa.

As the name suggests, you’ll party the night away with hits from your fave Bollywood films. But you’ll also get a taste of Bollywood with an included buffet dinner of North Indian delights such as panni poori and kadhai paneer.

While this is a family-friendly event, the 18+ among you can get alcoholic drinks from $10 if you’re in need of liquid courage to bust it down on the dance floor.

5. 2023 New Year’s Pub Crawl – Pub-hopping with party bus

If you can’t decide on a pub to hit up for NYE, do the easy thing and visit multiple in a night. It’s basically the alcoholic version of cafe-hopping. At the 2023 New Year’s Pub Crawl, you’ll head to 3 different watering holes via a party bus, so the party never stops even while in transit.

Each stop gains you VIP entry and a free alcoholic beverage. If you’re hankering for more, you’ll get exclusive discounts on food and drinks at each location too.

6. Skechers Sundown Live – Family-friendly countdown

If you’ve got kids – human or fur – bring them down to Palawan Green at Sentosa for the Skechers Sundown Live Countdown Party. Not only will you get to party with international DJs, there are a bunch of activities for the whole fam too.

Keep little ones busy with scratch art and face painting. The adults can have their own fun with jagua tattoos and free-flow beer from 4pm-6pm. Then get everyone together for a movie screening before the countdown begins. 

You can even squeeze in a last ditch attempt at doing good for 2022 by getting a massage by members of the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped. All proceeds collected will go to the organisation.

7. Our Tampines Hub – 3-day-long New Year festival

Heartlanders in the East won’t have to miss out on any countdown fun. Our Tampines Hub will be hosting its own 3-day event from 31st December 2022 to 2nd January 2023.

The main countdown event will happen from 10pm-1am on 31st December 2022 where you can catch a lineup of exciting entertainment such as juggling, acrobatics, and fire performances. The night ends with dazzling fireworks too, so there’s no need to FOMO if you can’t make it down to STAR Island.

The 3-day festival is chock full of family-friendly fun as well, like electric go-karts for kids, laser tag, and a family maze challenge. Parts of OTH will also be converted into a carnival with carnival games and a skating rink.

8. NYE Countdown Beach Party – Countdown at 3 beach bars

End your 2022 with a bang at the New Year’s Eve Countdown Beach Party at Siloso Beach, Sentosa. Dance the night away with live music mixed by DJ Jagi from South Korea and DJ Reiko. You’ll also be entertained by live bands and fire dance performances to light up your night.

At this event, you can hop around 3 beach bars – Coastes, Bikini Bar, and Sand Bar. Priced at $18/pax, it’s a steal considering the fun and drinks to be had. Perhaps these are the cheap thrills Sia was singing about.
