I have att sim , today I was watching YouTube then all of a sudden I lost signal cannot make calls or use internet, I live a half mile away from the tower witch I usually get 4 to 5 bars of excellent lte level 1 Sounds like they are forcing you to Verizon based SIM. The reason is Verizon bought Tracfone and all of the Tracfone brands, and they are trying to get everyone on Verizon towers. level 2 I already had the sim I just switched to the Verizon sim and fixed my problem level 1 That’s why I moved to mint. They’re trying to get you to get the Verizon sim When I had it And I tried to make a call There would be a stupid message telling you to get the sim level 2 I recently switched to Mint and can’t believe I stayed on ST as long as I did. Just an awful on experience across the board near the end. I was on the Verizon towers the whole time, but ST went to shit with the buyout. Mint has been an absolute pleasure and their customer service is not inhumane. level 1 I had the same thing happen. I had AT&T and it just quit working yesterday. Nothing would go through at all. luckily I'd already ordered the verizon sim card, so I popped that in and it started working again. :/ level 2 Same here , and now I like that the Verizon speeds are faster than att network level 1 What do we do if it says the phone isn’t compatible because the sim is “locked” ..? I swear I had an unlocked phone but tracfone now locked it and the Verizon SIM card they sent won’t work level 2 Had the same problem and apparently my Iphone X is stolen and they told me to contact Verizon about it... lmao Had to go back to my slow Iphone 6 plus. I jailbroke it and using Tetherme with it to use my Iphone X again. haha level 2 Have you tried going into settings then go to mobile connection and then change network type to LTE/cdma ? level 2 Mine said the same thing, another thread I commented in has the correct apn settings level 1 They are temporarily cutting service several minutes every week or so to remind or push ppl to switch to Verizon. I haven't done it. I like att due to traveling coverage RobotPoweredHome is reader-supported. When you buy through links on my blog, I may earn an affiliate commission. I have been taking some important calls recently, most of which are related to my work, but to my dismay, the Straight Talk data I use has been acting up, resulting in frequent call drops and slow internet speeds. I got hold of some resources online and understood that the call drop anddata issues are mostly related to the network glitches, delayed payments and plan renewals. You can fix Straight Talk Data Not Working by renewing your data plan on time and by resetting your network settings on your mobile device. Check for Service OutagesStraight Talk is known for partnering with other telecom operators to offer network coverage to its users. If you are facing issues with Straight talk data, there are chances of technical faults at their side, or it could also be due to an outage on one of their partner companies. Since Straight talk allies with all four telecom operators, namely Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint, sudden disruption on any of these networks can cause data connectivity issues on your mobile, but that depends on your location and device. Check Your SubscriptionBefore you arrive at any conclusion, it is a wise move to first check your balance on the Straight talk subscription. If you are using a prepaid plan, your account must have sufficient balance to make calls and use the Internet. Likewise, if you are on a postpaid plan, you need to keep an eye on your subscribed data and allowance, failing which the service provider might temporarily suspend your mobile account. Your issues with the Straight talk data need not always be about your device and the network; it could also be due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, natural disaster, etc. I live in a region where it rains most of the year. I have noticed on several occasions that whenever there is a heavy downpour, my mobile coverage drops abruptly, making it difficult for me to make calls and surf the Internet. And most importantly, if your mobile apps are not updated on time, such as your browser apps and calling apps, it could also lead to connectivity issues on your Straight Talk data.
