Spay & Neuter Clinic

In 2010, the Oregon Humane Society Salem Campus (formerly Willamette Humane Society) opened the region’s first low-cost, high-quality spay and neuter clinic. Our clinic serves owned cats, community cats, OHS shelter pets, and rescue partners. Since opening, shelter veterinarians have performed more than 55,000 procedures.

Our compassionate team is made up of qualified, licensed veterinarians, as well as trained, licensed certified veterinary technicians (CVTs), and veterinary assistants. We are proud to offer accessibly-priced services, as well as reduced costs for community members on government assistance and free programs for community animals. At this time, we are only serving cats.

Your support saves lives!!!

Because of you, sweet Precious’ life was saved. When she became very ill, her owner Mindy was told by an emergency veterinary clinic that Precious would die unless she had $2,600+ for diagnostics and surgery.

Mindy was devastated, she did not have that kind of money and could not imagine life without her best friend and faithful companion. She thought her only choices were to let Precious die or surrender her to a shelter that could get her the medical care she needed.

Fortunately, someone told her about us! Precious had a pyometra infection - a life-threatening uterine infection that typically affects older, intact (not sterilized) female dogs. Immediate spay surgery to remove the uterus was necessary to try to save her life. We provided the surgery, antibiotics, fluids, and other services that Precious needed for a price Mindy could afford.

Precious recovered and at her follow-up exam was back to giving her mom unconditional love, companionship, and kisses!

    Veterinary Assistant/Supervisor

I’m a mother of three fur babies whom I love dearly. In my spare time, I love to try new restaurants, and yes, I am a foodie! I’ve been a part of the Spay and Neuter Center team since April 2013 and have loved every minute of it. I worked with the owner, Taryn Griffith at another clinic prior to this place and took the opportunity to work for her here right away. She is an amazing, loving person, and working for her has been an absolute delight. Knowing we are educating the public about the importance of spaying, neutering, and vaccinating their pet, is very rewarding
