Olay retinol eye cream before and after

A few weeks ago on Instagram,  I shared that I was going to try out the latest line of products from Olay: the Retinol24 moisturizer, serum, and eye cream. Before I get into the products and my experience with them, I wanted to elaborate on why this is something I wanted to do. Skincare has easily become a passion/obsession of mine over the last couple of years, and I’ve loved any opportunity to research + share new products with y’all. Skincare is something that is so unique to your specific needs, concerns, priorities, budget, etc. That’s why I try to do a lot of research and share options that I genuinely believe will work, so then you can personalize your routine from there! I’m especially excited for these Olay products because they give me a chance to chat about Retinol – an essential skincare ingredient that can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming when it comes to how to properly use it.

why do I need to use retinol?

While retinol is one of the most essential skincare ingredients, it can also be one of the most difficult to figure out. How much do I use? Will it irritate my skin? When do I apply it? Retinol is so important because it can really effectively improve your skin’s texture and pigmentation, while also having incredible anti-aging effects. Retinol increases collagen production, allowing for a smoother, more even complexion. Because it evens your pigmentation, retinol is amazing for clearing up acne scars or any uneven skin tone. It also majorly brightens your skin AND can clog pores, preventing further breakouts. It’s seriously one of those ingredients that is so powerful and essential to any skincare routine, no matter what your specific concerns are. Retinol can be a little scary because it can have a reputation for causing irritation, especially during those first few uses. So when I heard that the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 products caused virtually no irritation, I was super intrigued to see for myself. Plus, the idea of products giving you results in 24 hours (hence the name) was something I was dying to see for myself!

my experience with the olay retinol24 products

Like I said above, I started using the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 products several weeks ago. Any time I want to try a new skincare product, I’ve learned that it typically takes 4-6weeks of consistent use to see results. So for any skincare newbies out there, it’s best to give a product a month or two before you can truly see if it works. That being said, I can genuinely say I saw results form these Olay products after a single use. It was unreal and the results only got better over time. Since these products aren’t necessarily meant to be used as an entire regimen, it made it easier for me to incorporate them into my current routine / swap things out as needed. Here’s a quick breakdown of the products and when you’re supposed to use them:

• Moisturizer: replace your daily moisturizer
• Eye Cream: apply after moisturizer
• Serum: apply after cleansing, but before moisturizing

I know the order of products can be confusing, so hopefully that helps clear it up! So now to the results and my experience.

benefits of the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 products

For me personally, I noticed that my skin’s texture was smoother and brighter overall. I don’t necessarily struggle with a lot of breakouts, but my skin’s texture is still one of my major concerns. I love that these products helped me feel more confident without makeup because my skin was so much more even! Hands down, the moisturizer was my favorite product of them all. Now that the temperatures are dropping, my skin has been SO thirsty and dry. This moisturizer gave my skin all of the extra hydration it needed, while also adding a little extra glow. I also love that the moisturizer, as well as the other Retinol24 products, are fragrance free. This just gives me a little more peace of mind about using them!

The night eye cream + serum are also amazing and I would for sure recommend those as well. As y’all probably know, the skin around your eyes is much more sensitive and delicate. I love that this eye cream (even with retinol) was safe to use around my eyes nightly. It helps with everything from wrinkles to dark circles, aiming to give your eyes a more youthful appearance overall. It’s amazing! The night serum refines your pores while also brightening your skin tone. I definitely feel like this is a serum everyone should try!

Not only was I really impressed by how quickly I saw an improvement in my skin’s texture, but I was also so happy that not one of these products caused redness or irritation. My skin is SO sensitive and I’ve used tons of retinols in the past that have left my skin super unhappy and dried out. With Olay’s unique formula and an added B3 ingredient, the retinol is able to be effective without your skin experience any of those negative side effects. The products are all super hydrating too, so your skin isn’t left feeling like the desert.

budget-friendly skincare!

In addition to having quick results, I feel like there are so many other reasons why I would recommend these products to y’all. First off, the price point is extremely reasonable, which is rare for skincare in general and especially rare for retinol. I love any time I find budget-friendly skincare that actually works (basically a unicorn lol). Secondly, I love that these products are fragrance-free and work well on a variety on skin types. I typically try to avoid fragrances in skincare since they can trigger a lot of irritation, allergies, and just other sensitivities in general. Basically, it’s not necessary and can cause some problems to your skin. Lastly, I love that not only do you see results quickly, but the products are also working continuously for 24 hours.
