Here are your options:

1. Transfer money to your friend’s account and get them to withdraw the money

5. Use the Netspend card through Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Cash App

Alright, let’s expand on each of these and see which option would suit you best. I’ll admit that these aren’t perfect solutions but that’s what you get for losing the card or not having one yet.

1. Send money to your friend’s account

Hopefully, if you don’t have your Netspend card with you, you probably have a friend or someone you know who also has a Netspend account, or alternatively, a Venmo, Chime, Cash App, Zelle, or anything else with instant transfers. 

If it’s urgent, why not ask them to borrow you the money and you pay them back once you get the card.

There are no fees for transferring money between Netspend accounts and it can be done inside the app or online. 

2. Transfer funds to another bank account

You could also send the money to yourself if you have an alternative bank account or financial app. Simply connect your Netspend account or card to it and make a transfer. 

Most of the apps have instant transfers available. Some of them charge a 1.5% fee while others like Zelle, do it for free.

3. See the card details in the Netspend app

You don’t need to have a physical card to pay bills or buy stuff online, for instance. You can at all times find your Netspend card details in the app. You can find information such as card number, expiration date, CVV, routing number, and account number. 

You can easily use those details, to pay for things online or even in person at restaurants, cafes, or shops, for example (see step 4). To see your card details, open your Netspend app and select ‘Prepaid Account.’ You’ll see all the card details needed. 

If you need to pay a bill urgently, you can do it over the phone using the card details that you just obtained.

4. Generate a temporary Virtual Account number

Most debit cards and digital banks let you generate virtual cards for online and phone transactions. With Netspend, you can generate up to 6 temporary virtual account numbers. 

There are many good use cases for this feature. For example, when you want to buy from a new or unfamiliar website, you give them your virtual card number and after you complete the purchase, you cancel the virtual number. That way, the merchant won’t have any of your card details as they expired.

You can also use this technique for subscription trials. Give your virtual card number to the merchant and even if you forget to cancel the membership before the trial is over, they won’t be able to charge you for the full service. 

To get a Virtual Account number:

1. Open Netspend app or website and log in
2. Go to Netspend Account Center
3. Generate a temporary Virtual Account number 
4. Use the new Virtual Account number

5. Use the Netspend card through a Wallet App

You can connect your Netspend card to a wallet like Apple Pay or any other popular digital wallet such as Google Pay and Samsung Pay. You can do this even without the card in your hand if you used the above-mentioned technique to get your card details. 

To add a card to Apple Wallet manually:

1. Go to the Wallet app on your iPhone 
2. Tap the ‘add button’ (+)
3. Tap ‘Continue’ 
4. Tap ‘Enter Card Details Manually’
5. Enter your card information 
6. Tap ‘Next’
7. Enter the asked information

Although it’s easier to add your card to a wallet if you have the physical card with you because you just take a picture of it, it’s not the end of the world even if you have to type in the numbers yourself.

A side note. If you don’t see the + button when you open the Apple Wallet app, your phone or device might be set to the wrong region. You’ll first have to switch it to the current one.
