About your bill
Depending on your plan and the care you receive, you might get a bill after your visit. It will show a summary of what you owe and tell you how you can pay. If you ever have questions about your bill, we’re here to help.
Why you’re getting a bill
You can expect a bill when:
- Your payment at check-in didn’t cover your scheduled services
- You received additional services during your visit, like lab tests or X-rays
You’ll usually be asked to make a payment when you check in. But your care team might not know all the services you need that day until they talk with you. If the care you receive costs more than what you paid at your visit, you’ll get a bill — usually within 30 days. If you don’t see
a recent service or payment on your current bill, look for it on the next one.
Tracking your costs
After your visit, you’ll get a summary of the care you received and what your health plan covers. It’s not a bill. It’s an Explanation of Benefits — a resource that shows your claims activity at a glance, so you can easily track your expenses and see how close you are to reaching your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. If you owe anything, you’ll receive a bill separately.
You can also track your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum online anytime.
