As in move your number from Boost service to ATT service, yes you can do that. It is called porting. Now if you are asking if you can use an ATT phone with your Boost service, probably not as an ATT phone is probably not compatible with the Boost network.

Call PAC (Port Activation Center) at 888.898.7685. To port your number and get service working

Awesome, thank you so much for the advice. I will do it soon as I can. We are 5 members of the family and I would like to move to ATT.

(edited)

I'm an active boost mobile customer but want to change to ATT. I just paid my month of service.i already have an att phone I want to use. I know I can port my number over to att but what about my service I just paid for? Would I just loose it? Should I wait till this months service is up?

Need help,

Jennifer.

Yes, you will lose the month which you already paid. To move your Ph number to ATT you have to call BoostM to get your Account Number. then you have to have SIM Card from ATT prepaid, follow the instructions, and will be easy. I recently moved from BoostM to ATT and I'm super happy.

No, you don’t need to go to a Boost Mobile store to accomplish this! You can do it all by yourself!

The reasons why it’s allowed and possibly vary from one person to another. However, the most common reason is that you want to use a newer and better-performing phone than what you’re using right now!

So, how do you switch phones for Boost Mobile? What things do you need to do from your end?

How to Switch Phones on Boost Mobile Account – Steps

How to transfer boost mobile number to another phone

In this tutorial, we will give you a complete walkthrough of how you can switch phones on your Boost Mobile account.

Unlike other guides you’ll see online, we wouldn’t just give you the general steps of how it’s done.

Instead, we’ll bring it to you completely and comprehensively!

Step #1: Check if the Device is Unlocked

First things first – is the device you want to use for your SIM card unlocked?

Contrary to popular belief, you would need an unlocked phone if you want to use it for Boost Mobile.

To check and see if your device is unlocked, try to insert a different SIM card (not from the provider where it’s purchased from) and see if it’ll work.

Alternatively, you can use online unlocked phone checker tools to double-check if the device is unlocked or not.

It’s also worth checking if the device is still working properly. If you’ve been using the device for years, there’s a big chance that it could be the one at fault.

Step #2: Turn the Old Device Off

After you’re sure that it’s unlocked, the next step is to ensure that the old device (the one you are using now) is turned off.

In order for the network not to detect it, the best bet would be to turn your old device or smartphone off.

Once it’s turned off, remove the Boost Mobile SIM card inside it.

Step #3: Insert the SIM Card Into the New Phone

Using the SIM card that you pulled from your old phone, insert it to the new phone (that’s unlocked) that you want to use for the Boost Mobile.

The process of inserting the SIM card into the new phone will depend on the type of smartphone you’re using.

But, usually, you will need a SIM card pin or a paperclip to be able to reach the SIM card tray of the phone.

Step #4: Perform the Activation

After inserting the SIM card into the phone, turn the phone on. You’ll notice that it’ll not have any signal or reception, so you’ll have to activate it.

There are two (2) ways on how you can activate and swap phones under the Boost Mobile system:

Activating Through Boost’s Customer Service

To activate through Boost Mobile’s automated voice system, follow these steps:

  1. Dial Boost Mobile’s customer service hotline.
  2. Select 3 (for account changes).
  3. Select 2 (phone swap or swap phone).
  4. Follow the guided steps that the voice command will instruct you to do.

Self-Activation (Online Method)

For self-activation, on the other hand, or the online method, here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Access Boost Mobile’s website.
  2. Click Activate a Device on the top right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Select Activate a New Device or Existing Customer.
  4. Choose the options based on your current status and click Continue.
  5. You just have to follow the guided on-screen steps to further and continue the process.

NOTE: You might be asked to input the SIM card number as well as the IMEI number of the new phone or new device, so be ready.

After you follow these four (4) steps, your new phone should now work with the current SIM card you’re using under the Boost Mobile network!

That’s the process of how to switch your Boost Mobile account to a new phone!

You’ll now have the ability to make outgoing text messages, calls, as well as receive incoming text messages and calls, too!

I’m Unable to Switch Phones, What Should I Do?

If the process above was unsuccessful, then, you need to perform further troubleshooting steps to properly switch phones:

Check Boost Mobile Coverage

One of the most important things to note when switching phones on your Boost Mobile account is the coverage.

No matter how advanced or how modern your smartphone is, if your location or spot does not have Boost Mobile coverage, the process won’t work.

To check if your area is covered, access the Boot Mobilenationwide network coverage map. Input your complete address and see if you’re covered.

Double-Check the IMEI of the New Phone

After that, ensure that you’ve listed down the correct IMEI of the new phone you’re planning to use under the account.

The system is so sensitive that even a single mistake will cause it not to work since it’ll be a different IMEI already.

Double-Check the SIM Card Number

Akin to the IMEI of the phone, the SIM card number would also be a relevant part of the equation. These numbers are unique codes that need to be 100% accurate; getting them wrong would definitely restrict the process from clearing.

So, double-check the SIM card number. You can usually see it on the package of SIM cards when it was first purchased. If you don’t have this, take the SIM card out and you’ll see it listed there.

Ask Boost Mobile For Assistance

Should these further steps still be insufficient, the next best course of action is to contact Boost Mobile and ask for their help and assistance.

Let them know about the steps you’ve already done so they can provide a series of more accurate and more effective troubleshooting steps that are slightly more technical than the basic ones.

Switching phones under your Boost Mobile account is simple and easy! You just need to insert the new SIM card into your new phone, and then activate it via Boost’s customer service or online!

It’s also imperative to check if your location is in the coverage area of Boost Mobile.
