All certificates are certified extracts of the original Registration of Birth. Certificates and certified copies of birth records issued for a deceased person have a “Deceased” notation on them. This is in accordance with legislation and to protect the deceased from identity theft. Altering and/or laminating Vital Statistics documents makes them invalid.
