In the morning, coffee station brings you back to life on site. Environments adjust easily from casual to elegant keeping feeling to be safe and that you are returning home. Upon check out we were presented with a bill that did not account for the use of miles, and is $439.36 more than it should have been. Also, our stay was marred with issues, and as part of the resolution we were offered a room charges credit of $100 by Omar, this also was not applied to our account. Issues we faced: Original room had no usable outside space despite being a King with Patio, and smelt of damp First replacement room had a leak from a light fixture Second replacement room had construction works immediately outside our room from 9 am to 3 pm every day (despite being told that the works were not supposed to start until 10 am), the door to the balcony did not lock, and there was no privacy curtain. However, we accepted these shortcomings so that we could make a start on enjoying our vacation but this was not the Fairmont experience we expected, particularly as we are Platinum Accor members. well located, not well runthe rooms were extremely costly for the quality especially during shoulder season. Breakfast was not included, everything was extra. Construction noise was annoying. Rooms badly needed refurbishment. Food was good. Coffee bar in lobby was excellent some days, awful other days. Resort overrun by feral cats which were visibly starving and begging everywhere. I hope they are rescued and not euthanized. Very happyRoaches, security and poor responseThis is the last text in a chain of texts with managers. There response was can I assist you but never gave me the corporate email address. To be fair I did not return a text because I was already frustrated by that point. “Could I please get an email address to write to your corporate offices. After taking a breather I am still extremely unhappy with my stay at your hotel and would like to make an official complaint. I have never encountered such issues at a hotel and the nonchalant responses from the front desk staff made matters worse. Julissa did attempt to address this issue but at that point of the day after having to run down to the lobby at 6 am because of the second and third roach , then move my belongings at that time , I was just exhausted and upset. She did give me a late checkout (which I never used) The next morning after changing to an earlier flight because I just needed to leave the hotel, I specifically told the front desk person three times that Julissa said I should speak to her and therefore I should speak with a manager. She was very nice but A manager was never called but she reimbursed me for the resort fee which was a little over $100. Also please note that the treatment of the hotel guest prior to me then to myself was extremely different. The guest who is my friend was offered the resort fee waivered to her ($300+) without her even requesting it . The reason she was told was because there was work being done on the property. My friend reported to me that she never heard any work noise at all. She also then asked me . "Do you think it is because I am white?" And honestly I could not disagree. While I don't believe it was implicit bias I do believe it did occur. “ Great location. Amazing staff. Never nothing to do.This place is great! Close to Old San Juan and lots of restaurants. The hotel is excellent and the staff is top notch. Lots of entertainment choices on the property and many restaurants to choose from as well. We will absolutely be back. DisappointedAlthough the hotel is beautiful and the service was great...I am so disappointed with the rooms. We arrived late at night and didn't notice until the morning how dirty the room was. I was moved to another room that although was cleaner, it was still very dusty and there were roaches in it. I have pictures if you want me to send them. The shower door didn't properly close and the water was running out. Had to use the towels to keep the room front getting flooded. And for the price we are paying that's very disappointing. I ordered room service the first night and it was way overpriced. How does an order of chicken tenders, 3 fries, 2 milks, a cake and a beer cost me 175 dollars plus tip? In a room that was so disgusting. Plus the chicken and the cake were not good at all. You need to remove that vegan cake. It's not edible. My kids didn't eat anything. Just fries and milk. We enjoyed the pool and the pool service was excellent. The burgers and kosher hot dog were delicious and Louis went above and beyond to make sure we were been taking care of. The front desk was also great. Frances helped me move rooms and was very diligent. Valet and bellhop were also great. I was expecting a lot more but....It took over 2.5 hours to get checked in, mind you it was 7 pm when I arrived. The first room was not ready - like no TV, no towels, and dirty towels on the floor. Room 2 - an entire family was already in the room - this was mind-boggling! Room 3 - keypad would not work Room 4 - the floor was not clean, I stayed because at this point I was tired of hauling luggage everywhere! It is sad to see how this iconic hotel has lowered its standards. Very vivid when you walk into the hotel, with dirty carpets, and dull floors the customer experience is not there. For the price, I expected a lot more. Very disappointed. They did provide a $100 voucher for the troubles.
