Demon Slayer is almost back for its second season, but before the anime returns it will get a brief arc that recuts the Mugen Train movie into seven episodes. This arc will start on Oct. 10, while Demon Slayer season 2 will be released on Dec. 5.

Update (Oct. 7): Crunchyroll has released a new promo trailer for Demon Slayer’s Mugen Train arc and the official season 2 Entertainment District arc.

Demon Slayer’s return to the Mugen Train arc won’t be exactly what fans saw in theaters. Instead, the short prequel arc will try to seamlessly bridge the gap between the anime’s first and second seasons by expanding the movie into seven separate episodes with several new scenes. The arc will also include an entirely original episode that takes place before the events of the movie.

As for Demon Slayer’s actual second season, it will start off with a special hour-long episode when it premieres on Sunday, Dec. 5. The anime’s second season will follow the events of the manga’s Entertainment District arc, which will introduce the series’ latest major demon, Daki.

For now, Funimation has announced that the Mugen Train arc will be available to stream on the Funimation website along with Hulu and Crunchyroll. Season 2 will also be available to stream on Funimation and Crunchyroll.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train English Dub Trailer

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train English dub is already out

The Demon Slayer Season 2 English dub was released in multiple parts based on the story arcs.

Funimation and Crunchyroll are both already streaming the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train English dub. In that case, all seven dubbed episodes of the Mugen Train dub were released on the same day on FUNimation and Crunchyroll.

Presumably, the dubbing process was made easier since the majority of the work had already been done for the film version of the Mugen Train Arc. Even if you have already watched the Mugen Train movie already it’s definitely worth re-watching the TV version since there are extended scenes and even an anime original episode featuring Rengoku!

Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village release date coming up next

Following the ending of the second season, the Demon Slayer Season 3 anime TV series was confirmed to be in production. The Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village release date hasn’t been announced yet, although rumors from anime news leakers claim that anime fans will need to wait more than a year.

It’s already been confirmed that the main Japanese cast, director Haruo Sotozaki, chief animation director Akira Matsushima, and lead character designer Akira Matsushimafor are all returning for creating the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -Swordsmith Village- anime at Studio ufotable.

Presumably, a Demon Slayer Season 3 English dub will be produced in the future.

Warning: The following paragraph contains a brief Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc story summary with spoilers.

The Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc anime will have Tanjiro Kamado waking up after two months in a coma. Tanjiro will travel to the swordsmith village in hopes of convincing Hotaru to make him a new sword, but after discovering a secret weapon the young demon slayer will find Upper Moon Five Gyokko and Upper Moon Four Hantengu waiting for him. But it’s not like Tanjiro is facing danger alone since he’ll be joined by two Hashira, the “Love Hashira” Mitsuri Kanroji and the “Mist Hashira” Muichiro Tokito.

Assuming that there isn’t a movie adaptation of the Hashira Training Arc from the manga, the story will continue in the Demon Slayer Season 4: Infinity Castle Arc anime. Stay tuned!
