Can i pre order apple watch series 7

After being announced in September alongside the iPhone 13, the Apple Watch Series 7 is now available to pre-order. The Apple Watch Series 7 is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes across three different materials, and the first orders are set to arrive next Friday.

Apple Watch Series 7 pre-orders now live

The Apple Store app is now back online for some users, so keep checking if you don’t see it quite yet. As usual, it takes time for the Apple Store to fully come back online for everyone. We always recommend first trying your luck with the Apple Store app for iOS rather than Apple’s website.

As a refresher, the Apple Watch Series 7 features what Apple calls a “refined design” with “softer, more rounded corners.” It’s available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with Apple using a “unique refractive edge that makes full-screen watch faces and apps appear to seamlessly connect with the curvature of the case.”

Apple explains that there are multiple other ways watchOS has been tweaked to take advantage of the larger display, inlacing a new QWERTY keyboard:

The user interface is optimized to take advantage of the shape and size of the new display. Apple Watch Series 7 offers two additional larger font sizes, and a new QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped or swiped with QuickPath — allowing users to slide a finger to type — and utilizes on-device machine learning to anticipate the next word based on the context, making text entry easier and faster. With watchOS 8, larger menu titles and buttons in apps like Stopwatch, Activity, and Alarms also make the screen even simpler to interact with.

Apple says that the wrist is down, the Always-On Retina display is up to 70 percent brighter indoors than that of Apple Watch Series 6.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is available in aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium as well as with GPS or GPS + Cellular connectivity.

Aluminum

  • Midnight
  • Starlight
  • Green
  • Blue
  • (PRODUCT)RED

Stainless Steel

  • Silver
  • Graphite
  • Gold

Titanium

  • Natural
  • Space Black

Apple says that the Series 7 charges up to 33% faster than the Series 6, and that eight minutes of charging can give you enough battery for eight hours of sleep tracking.

In the box with your Apple Watch Series 7, you’ll get a new USB-C charging cable, but you’ll need to supply your own charging brick. Apple says that its charging stats are based on tests conducted with an 18W USB-C charger.

  • Elago W3 Stand

The Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $399 for the entry-level 41mm aluminum model with GPS connectivity. The first orders will arrive in one week, on Friday, October 15.

Can i pre order apple watch series 7

Check out 9to5Mac on YouTube for more Apple news:

Apple has confirmed that Apple Watch Series 7 pre-orders will begin on Friday 8 October, with availability starting a week later on Friday 15 October.

This confirms the claims of leaker Jon Prosser who confirmed our own assumption that the market launch of Apple Watch Series 7 was imminent.

We recently researched various Apple Stores and found that Apple Watch Series 6 is completely sold out in some variants – a sure sign that the successor, in this case Apple Watch 7, is imminent.

As of 7am on Friday 8 October the Apple Store is down as Apple gets it ready for the new products.

Expect limited stocks

If you want to get an Apple Watch Series 7 on the first day of sale, you will need to be quick. According to reports, Apple has only been able to produce small numbers for the first batch.

It seems that the Apple Watch Series 7 has been plagued by production problems. On 1 September 2021 Nikkei Asia reported that Apple had started mass production of the watch, but the quantities were far below expectations. A few days later, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman collaborated these claims, stating that the larger screens were causing problems during production.

It seems that these production problems lead Apple to postpone the launch of the Series 7. However, it didn’t stop Apple from presenting the new watch on the 14 September with the promise that it would be available to buy “later this fall”.

If you want to buy an Apple Watch Series 7 and don’t want to wait long for your order, you should make sure you are ready to place your order on Friday 8 October as soon as pre-orders open. It may well be that the quantities are so low that the new watch will be sold out on the first day.

When will Apple Watch 7 go on sale?

Apple has confirmed that the new Apple Watch Series 7 will be available to order beginning Friday 8 October, at 5 am PDT.

That is 1pm UK time, 2pm in Central Europe, and 8am EDT.

They will be available in stores from Friday 15 October 2021.

How to pre-order Apple Watch

Stocks are expected to be in limited supply, so if you want a new Apple Watch you will need to be ready to order as soon as pre-orders start on 8 October, or you could be waiting a long time for delivery.

Leaker Jon Prosser claims Apple has only been able to produce small quantities of the new watch so it’s likely that waiting times will extend to several weeks following the start of sales.

If you do a little preparation now buying your Apple Watch will be a lot easier once pre-orders open.

1. Create or verify your account at the Apple Store

It is advisable to check the account you use to make purchases with Apple now. You don’t want to find that you need to enter a new credit card or alternative delivery address when you are attempting to order your Watch. Don’t delay because Apple is very likely to take the Apple Store offline before the product launches – so you won’t be able to make any amendments to your account. Don’t wait until the day pre-orders start to check your account because inevitably on entering the Apple website you will be greeted with an Apple logo and the words: “We’ll be right back”.

Here’s how to check your Apple account:

  1. The summary of your Apple account activities can be found at this link.
  2. Log in with your password or touch or Face ID.
  3. Check whether the delivery address is still correct.
  4. Check whether a current credit card is listed as the payment method.

2. Choose the Apple Watch you want and get ready to pre-order

When Apple announced the date when iPhone 13 pre-orders would start the company added a Get Ready To Pre-Order button on the site. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be such a function for Apple Watch 7 pre-orders.

Nor does it seem to be possible to save your desired variant as a favourite, which is usually our recommendation. When that method works, this is what you need to do:

  1. Choose the Apple Watch you want from this page.
  2. Click on View Pricing.
  3. Pick the options (case material, strap, etc).
  4. Now click on Get Ready To Pre-Order. Apple now offers you the option to add more accessories and confirm payment information.
  5. Click on the heart to add to Favourites (you will need to sign into your account).

When this works it should be possible to add your preferred Apple Watch to Favourites, then the selected model should appear in the For You bar of the app and under the following link on the Apple Store website: UK or US.

Since these methods aren’t working right now we suggest that you study Apple’s Apple Watch 7 page and make your decision now about what combination of Watch case, size, strap and so on your want.

Which Apple Watch to choose?

Apple presented the new Apple Watch Series 7 at the September event where the iPhone 13 launched. There were no new sensors or other new health features this year, the most notable change is a slightly larger screen. Read: Five reasons not to buy Apple Watch 7.

There will be a choice of five colours for the aluminium variants: black, white, blue, green and Product(Red). Stainless steel and titanium variants will also be available, but those retain the same colour options as Series 6: stainless steel is available in silver, gold and Space Grey, while the titanium watch comes in Space Black and silver.

If you want the best chance of getting the new Watch soon after launch day our recommendation is that when purchasing you don’t select the solo loop bracelet or braided loop bracelet, because the availability of the new Watch will also depend on the desired colour and size of the bracelet. So if a certain size of the Solo Loop is out of stock, the selected Apple Watch model will also be displayed as unavailable.

It’s not only the watch you need to choose but also the strap. The new Apple Watch straps are already available in the Apple Store and are compatible with all Apple Watches. Read: Do the Apple Watch straps fit all models?
