For 2022 both the Africa Twin Adventure Sports receive updates to further increase their daily practicality. The CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports benefits from a new 110mm lower 5-stage adjustable screen that improves visibility and doesn’t compromise on weather protection. DCT Adventure Sports are updated for 2022, with new refined settings to deliver even smoother handling in the first two gears from a standing start and at low speeds. Honda have sold over 200,000 DCT equipped motorcycles across Europe since the system was first introduced on the VFR1200F in 2009, a testament to its broad appeal and acceptance in the marketplace. To complete the 2022 upgrades, AS Models receive striking new colour and graphic updates. The CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports features new ‘Cracked Terrain’ graphics and revised colour schemes. Twin intakesThe Africa Twin uses a unique twin air-intake design with two vertical filtration elements. All that clean air helps the engine deliver excellent performance, even under prolonged operation in dusty conditions. Six-speed DCT automatic transmissionAvailable on the Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT and ES models, this is the transmission of the future. Inside, it’s as tough as a conventional manual, with steel gears throughout. You can let it shift for you, or paddle shifters in the manual mode give you full control. Four settings (Drive, Sport 1, 2, and 3) let you pick what’s right for your riding conditions. Selectable, cornering ABSOur 2020 Africa Twin models offer two ABS modes: on-road and off-road. A third setting lets you turn the rear ABS off altogether for riding in the dirt. Get out there and ride! The Africa Twin’s Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) comes standard integrated with a 6-axis IMU, it knows when you’re leaned over, and compensates accordingly. Honda Selectable Torque ControlThe Africa Twin’s throttle-by-wire system lets us offer Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). You can dial in exactly the kind of power delivery you want for the conditions at hand. Honda Selectable Torque Control features seven settings for a wide range of conditions, from pavement to fast, loose fire roads to challenging single track. You can also turn it off. Wheelie controlFront and rear wheel-speed sensors working with the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) let you dial in three levels of wheelie control. There’s also an “off” position—you’re the wheelie control here. Riding modesBoth manual-transmission and DCT models offer six riding modes: Tour, Urban, Gravel, Off-Road, User 1 and User 2.
