Wolfgang puck bistro collection pressure cooker manual

This pressure cooker is so easy to use and makes really tasty meals. The best part, however, is the easy, easy cleanup. The inner pot is removable and teflon coated, so all you have to do is lift it out and quickly wash it. No muss, no fuss. It's also really easy to cook in. The thing I hate about crockpots is that you have to decide in the morning what you want to eat that evening. Sorry, but I'm a spur-of-the-minute gal. With this pressure cooker, I can decide anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes ahead of time what to prepare. You can toss the meat in frozen, along with some veggies or rice ... set the timer and forget it. Oh, decide to go do something else at the last minute? No problem, it will cook while you're gone, then switch over to 'warm' till you return; then you can pop in the fridge and have it the next day. What could be easier? There is one improvement I would add and that is an audible sign that it is through cooking. Not a huge problem, I just set one of my kitchen timers (stove or microwave) for how long I set the pressure cooker for, but still a built-in signal would be nice. As my title says, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT !!!!!

What you’re looking at is the Wolfgang Puck Automatic 8-Quart Rapid Pressure Cooker. It’s a great pressure cooker to use at home. It’s so simple to operate, and you can use it to cook all sorts of quick and easy recipes. It doesn’t have twenty button settings like some other pressure cookers have. The designer kept the complexity down to a minimum.

It has an easy to use timer, a warm setting for food that is sitting and a locking lid to keep the pressure level inside. It runs on 1200 watts and should be plugged into a 120 Volt 60 Hz AC outlet.

The inner pot of the cooker is Teflon coated. If you don’t like the brightly blue colored accents on the outside, it also comes in a plain black or orange color.

Wolfgang Puck 8-Quart Pressure Cooker Manual

Here is the most important information you will need to know for proper use, care and maintenance of your Wolfgang Puck Pressure Cooker. If you have further questions about your Wolfgang Pressure cooker or need to see the manual for one of the other pressure cookers made by this brand, view the official manual.

Before First Use:

What you need to do before using your pressure cooker for the first time is to clean it completely. Follow these steps and remember always to clean it after each further use.

  1. Make sure the pressure cooker is unplugged and that all of the packaging has been removed
  2. Wipe down outside of cooker with a warm damp cloth or towel. Do not use soap or any chemicals on the outside
  3. Disassemble the pressure cooker parts. Remove the inner pot, sealing gasket** and lid. Clean with warm soapy water, DO NOT put these pieces in the dishwasher for cleaning. Always check the sealing gasket and steam vent before each use to look for any tears or unwanted particles/buildup.

**To remove the sealing gasket, simply pull up on one side of the ring and lift the entire piece. To remove the steam vent, turn the black circular knob on top of the pressure cooker counter-clockwise.

How to Start Pressure Cooker:

  1. Double-check that all parts are assembled, the pressure cooker is plugged in, and the rack is inserted, if you are wanting to use it. Go ahead and add your ingredients to the inner pot. Do not overfill.
  2. Place the lid on top and align the notch on the lid with the triangle “open” symbol on the base.
  3. Turn lid counter-clockwise until notch moves to be aligned with the triangle “close” symbol.
  4. Then turn the pressure release valve (black knob on top of pressure cooker) to the sealed position.
  5. Select a time on the timer and check for the red light that should’ve turned on. The timer doesn’t start until after the appliance has completely warmed up and started cooking.
  6. Once your food is done, the timer has stopped, and pressure is released, it will automatically switch to warm mode, indicated by a green light. Before attempting to open the pot, let it sit for at least 5 minutes to make sure that the pressure has been released. If you try to remove the lid and it doesn’t come off easily, there is most likely still pressure in the cooker; do not attempt to force the lid open. If it is taking a while for the pressure to go down, unplug the pressure cooker from the wall and wait until it does or slowly release the steam manually.

Safety Tips:

  1. Do not release steam manually when cooking with liquids. Turn the dial to the “warm” setting and unplug the pressure cooker. Let sit until the lid comes open easily
  2. Do not overfill the inner pot or fill past halfway when cooking rice or other foods that expand when cooking
  3. The steaming rack, rice measuring cup, water collector and rice scoop can be cleaned on the top rack of a dishwasher
