The Kings County Clerk's Office processes applications for U.S. passports between the hours of 9:00 AM to 11 AM and 2 PM to 3:30 PM. The application requires that you provide proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity,
photographs and pay a fee. You are required to appear in person at any County Clerk Office in New York City, or at most Post Offices to submit the application. Providing Proof of Identity
The following are acceptable forms to provide proof of identity:
- A valid driver's license
- An employment photo id from a government agency
- A military id or
- A valid college photo id

You will need to bring one, 2 inch by 2 inch, passport size photograph of each person, at the time you apply.

If You Are Not a Citizen, but Wish to Apply for a Passport for a Child Born in the United States
For non-citizens applying for a passport for a child born in the United States, the parents of the child must present their passports from their country, or a valid resident's card, or a work authorization card issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
To obtain a certificate of naturalization, call the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at: l-800-375-5283.
You can apply for a U.S. passport by mail or in person.
U.S. passports are identification documents for citizens issued by the U.S. Department of State.
If you are applying for a U.S. passport for the first time, you will need to apply in person at a Passport Acceptance Facility near you.
If you are renewing a U.S. passport, you can renew in person or by mail.

Bring your child’s birth certificate
If you are applying for a Dutch passport or ID card for your child for the first time, bring both the original and a photocopy of their birth certificate to the appointment. It includes the child’s place of birth and the full name of one or both parents. If your child was born outside the Netherlands, their foreign birth certificate may first need to be translated and legalised.
