Allright i figured out by now that the Move to IoS App is hot garbage. Been trying for hours. Nothing ever works. Transfer error non stop no matter what guidance or tips i follow. So i'll skip it and do it manually after the setup.
How to i best go about transfering my photos? Save everything in the google cloud and dl later or getting Icloud on my pc and saving my phones pics there - then syncing with my new iphone? This is my first ever experience with the apple eco system. Is one way *better* than the other? Or easier?
Help very much appreciated!!

Whats the best way to send a video from android to iphone without the loss of video quality? And also vice versa?
level 1
Send a google photos link
level 2
This. It works great both ways

Google Photos may degrade video bitrate if OP uses a Free Unlimited version.

One cloud service provider which provides a lot of free data is Mega. If you can afford to pay premium you can use their premium tier as well also other cloud storage providers like Google Drive, Onedrive, Box etc. can be used
level 2
I pay for One Drive. I will try that. Thanks

Though there are some cross platform file sharers like Xender, ShareIt I personally use none. For me I would rather upload the file to a cloud service provider and then download it from there. This, can also function as your storage repository in case something were to happen to you device.

If on the same WiFi, snapdrop

Google photos or Sendanywhere app

Facebook messenger, Google Photos, Instagram dms all work well.

Google photos link. Android users already have a Google account, just makes sense. Great service to use on iOS as well.

Google photos or we transfer

I usually send my videos to and from via WhatsApp or Messenger video.
level 2
Yeah, but WhatsApp is really bad if you want to maintain quality.

I usually just use Snapdrop but both devices need to be in the same WiFi hotspot.

Not sure about iOS to android but for android to iOS, you can do it with an app called trebleshot. Using share through browser feature, you can send any kind of files to any device with a Web browser.

Send Anywhere works flawlessly. I use it to transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to Windows PC.

I just use whatsapp lol. Its annoying this problem still friggin occurs...I gave up trying to send videos through messages to non iOS individuals.

I use Feem. It's multi platform. They have builds for Windows, macOS, linux, Android and iOS.
Works through local wifi.

Feem isn't working on ipad os 14 for me

I’m looking for an app that can send photos between iphone and android and uses either Bluetooth or makes it’s own wifi hotspot. What’s important is that it doesn’t need internet for transferring files (because when we travel the internet is usually too slow for sending more than a few pictures) . Is there such an app (or a solution generally)?
level 1
I used to send photos via NFC (which then send via Bluetooth) just bring the two phones together. No idea if iPhone is smart enough for that though.
level 2
Haven't been for ages. I had a couple iPods and at some point the ability to send files via BT was just... Gone.
level 2
My question was if there’s an app to do it without wifi or internet, because wifi can be very bad when you’re abroad
level 1
can't you just use Bluetooth or like any text sending platform like WhatsApp?
level 2
iPhones can’t use bluetooth to send data between devices. Whatsapp needs internet to work, and like I said in my post I’m looking for an offline alternative because I can’t always find good wifi when I’m traveling to another country.

Send Anywhere can do that, without using data. Not the best UI but it works between Android and iOS I've used it a while ago.
