Golden Retriever For Sale
There are so many reasons why the Golden Retriever is a great family dog. They love being around people and other animals, they’re intelligent and extremely affectionate – they absolutely refuse to be left alone.
A Golden Retriever is not a watchdog. He might bark at strangers as they walk up the front steps, but do not rely on him to be the defender of the house. Golden Retrievers were bred to work with humans, and as such are very eager to please their owners.
Regardless of their subtype, Golden Retrievers share a common factor: all breeds sport blonde, yellow, or gold coats. They’re also susceptible to the same health problems as other individuals in their category. They also shed copiously from pawing activities and require regular grooming.

Personality
Golden retrievers are friendly, gentle and get along well with kids, pets and strangers. They don’t often bark so you can’t count on them as watchdogs but they will alert you to the arrival of an intruder.
Temperament
It is said that the golden retriever is one of the most well mannered dogs. It was bred to work with people and wants
nothing more than to please his owner. However, just like any other dog, if he is not well-raised and well-trained then he will never live up to his heritage.
Training & Learning:
From 2 – 6 months, if you start out your puppies off right with puppy preschool and basic obedience classes. They will tend to be receptive, trainable, and have the social skills to succeed in any type of environment.
From 6 – 12 months, in this phase, you may find your once-perfect angel becomes moody, cranky, and reclusive. Bring them around other cats with whom they can play in order to keep their social skills up (just like children need friends).
Between 12-24 months — like a teenager, they will need to adjust their calories based on the changes in size and health. Golden retrievers are active athletes, so they should be kept trim for their entire lives. Adult girls should weigh 55-65 pounds; males, 65-75 pounds.
Caring For A Golden Retriever
Food & Hydration:
Knowing how much to feed your Golden Retriever is always tricky but essential for his health. Goldens
are prone to obesity and joint problems, which can only be exacerbated with an inadequate feeding plan. This is why the food you feed your pet needs to be matched with their age, weight, activity level and overall health.
Exercise:
Golden Retriever puppies don’t always need much exercise. Because they typically grow up to be large-sized adults, it is important that you keep them from exercising too much as they normally would suffer from joint problems.
But like human beings, Golden Retrievers need daily exercise. Most adult Golden Retrievers will need at least 90 minutes of high-quality exercise every day. The exact amount of exercise they require depends on their age, weight, and general health – there is no one size fits all when it comes to these pooches.
Grooming:
Basic brushing and combing is essential to keep your dog neat. Trimming excess hair will reduce tangles, burrs, and the amount of dirt or mud it collects on itself–basically, a
clean dog! You’ll also want to trim their nails to help them when they run in areas with rough terrain.
Frequent grooming, like brushing the dog’s fur, gives owners the opportunity to get familiar with their pet. From finding any bumps or sores early on which might require veterinary care to simply giving the animal a human friend of his or her own size.
